My doctor prescribed me colospa x which contains mebeverine 135 mg and chlordiazepoxide 5 mg. I took it for 14 days then stopped and then after few days started suffering from panic attacks and bad feeling can it be caused due to withdrawal? Now my doc has again prescribed me librax which I am taking one at night and feeling better. Before 3 years I had taken normaxin for 7 months which also contains chlordiazepoxide and when I stopped taking horrible withdrawal and panic attacks occurred then took a long time to get back to normalcy. Presently what can be done to completely quit this librax which I am taking only once at night.

Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It's used for treatment of alcohol withdrawal as well as anxiety & irritable bowel syndrome. It has always to be stopped gradually over several weeks with small reduction in doses. Sudden cessation can precipitate withdrawal symptoms.

It is due to chlordiazepoxide withdrawal only. It will subside in few days don't worry.
