My mom is 51 years old. She is taking tablets for ocd for past 15 years. The tablets are fluvoxin100 mg and livogen. Due to her psychiatric problem she couldn't eat properly. She used to eat only one time a day and take tablets. Doctor asked her to take tablets for life time. These are the common details about her. Now the problem is she doesn't get her periods for past 2 months and now she got her periods. She is bleeding for past 25 days and still it doesn't stop. The flow is sometimes more and sometimes less. She get stomach pain whenever she gets bleeding. She is getting weak day by day. She become more lean. And nowadays her urine smells so badly like a tonic or something. She is not coming to doctor for checkup because of her ocd. She doesn't allow anyone to touch or to take scan ect. Can please help me out of this. Is it normal to have such periods? If it is not normal suggest some solution. Thank you in advance. May god reward you abundantly for your priceless services.

You need to take her to both psychiatrist and gynaecologist. Bleeding/periods like that are not normal. If gynaecologist rules out any pathology using clinical examination/ultrasound /hormone panel, then psychiatrist can think about changing her medication and improving her compliance. In-patient treatment may be needed for a month depending on difficulty of managing tge case. Good luck.
