I am 59 years diabetic and having medicine diamicron Mr. 60 max and obimet sr 500 but sugar was in range of 230 now after consulting Dr. now change medicine diapride m 1 and galvusmet 50/500 one each in morning & evening .still blood glucose is in range of 230 fasting how I can reduce sugar to normal range.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Fasting 230 mg is too high. There is no mention of pp glucose as well as hba1c%, both these values are needed to understand the situation better. From observing the fasting glucose it is clear that present treatment is not helping much. There is a need to up grade. To suggest that I need to know following details: pp glucose, hba1c%, lipid profile, serum creatinine, urea, weight, height, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise. Diet exercise and medicine dose titration are the three ways to bring sugar under control. Check with your doctor in this aspect. Long standing diabetes pt need insulin.
