Why is my fasting blood sugar high for last one week. Post lunch is lower. Like fb - 254, 245 post lunch 118, 181. Lithotripsy was done on april 7 for stone od 13.9 mm in mid right ureter. Have completed antibiotic dose on 14th april. I take tamfil s at night for 3 weeks. Is the tamfil causing rise in blood sugar. Please advise.

hi thanks for the query usually tamsulosin does not have any blood sugar fluctuations.. but rarely it may happen.. so better to think about other reasons for high sugar can you forward details of your medication list for diabetes and your diet pattern...we will correct it

Hi, tamsulosin (tamiflu) being an alpha 1 receptor blocker, blocks the insulin independent glucose uptake, thereby causing hyperglycaemia. In your case, fasting sugar 250, the level of increase is little inappropriate, but still possible so would suggest to do hba1c, closer check on sugars at varied timings of the day to check control.
