My wife 52 is a diabetic n on insulin. She has seizure problem since 2008 only. She is on dicorate 500 twice a day but still get seizre once in two years or three years within two hours of waking up in morning. It is accompanied by a shriek n fall n then twitching of muscles as happens in tonic clonic seizures. She does not take tea and takes coffee only twice or thrice a day. Cn you advise pls.

The neurologist can advice a sleep and awake eeg. Patient needs to have another anti epileptic agent to prevent recurrence. If patient is having neuropathy and obese topiramate could be a good choice. Pl consult your neurologist to start this. Wish your wife good health.
