Hello doctor. How long can a female take ovanac dsr for infertility. What is the use of this. Why letrozole is prescribed and how long letrozole can be taken.

Letrozole is a medicine which helps this fsh in our body to be more active and help get the best egg cell to mature and give us a healthy egg for ovulation. Ovanac is a safe medicine which you can take even in your pregnancy. It may also help in infertility. Since you are 42, my advice is to get all your hormonal tests done and also get your husband tested by an infertility specialist near you since you have very less time left before you get menopause. At this age, we usually advice to go for other methods such as iui or ivf.

Letrozole is commonly used for ovulation induction to improve the chance of pregnancy. However at this age the chance of success with letrozole is extremely limited. Considering your age, you have limited period of time for pregnancy. We cannot reduce the age. Therefore we advise to check blood for amh and check your husband's semen as soon as possible. At this age, probably you will need ivf.
