Would like to have 2nd opinion regarding psychiatric treatment of my 22 yrd old son .his blood tlc ,rbc, and hct have come low. He is advised on olang 10 mg at night and 2.5 mg in the morning ,antichol 1 mg in the morning. And lexpro 5 mg in the afternoon .he is feeling fatigue and low in energy level. He is being given these medicines since 1st jan-2020. He has otherwise recovered from basic problem for which treatment was started.

Low rbc and hct could mean anemia causing tiredness and depression. So anemia should be treated very well. Olanz and lexapro themselves can cause fatigue problem. Please consult for appropriate treatment.

The fatigue can be explained based on the blood work. If he is asymptomatic and this is the first episode we can lower doses.

How low are the rbc, hct and tlc. Many times minor variation does not matter. Major variation will need physician consultation. Fatigue can be part of the original psychiatric problem, though so called basic symptoms have subsided now. May need some modification in medication. Best of luck.
