Then due to lighten I was unable to continue these medications and it's been 2 3 weeks without medication. But since last week I was feeling very low like numb and I thought that i'm not able to think properly. I thought it's something with the brain. My sleep schedule was very bad. I used to stay awake whole night or sometimes even longer. But this numb feeling was scarring me. I'm feeling like I can't recall my memories. Tho I remember everything but I don't know why i'm feeling weird so I talked to my Dr. and he said that take oleanz 2.5 I took the medicine on monday evening and on tuesday morning and after taking this medication i'm feeling very sleepy. I can't stay awake. I don't know what to do. I tried everything but i'm feeling extremely sleepy and it is scaring me. What should I do. Is this something related to my brain? What should I do to avoid this sleepiness. I stopped taking this medication after taking it for 2 times but still my sleepiness is not going away. Please tell me what is this and what should I do. I'm not experiencing any other symptoms just this.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, from what you have written, I could get only a part of your problem. Your age is not mentioned. Before you went to your psychiatrist on the first time, how long had your symptoms been presenting. You have mentioned that you were taking medicines for depression and increased heart rate. A better and elaborate narration about the exact symptoms you were experiencing should be enquired and analysed. For example, your mood state and its consistency and fluctuations, your energy level, interest level, your involvement in your daily routine and your occupational and social functioning, your sleep and appetite, attention, concentration, your thoughts ,any negative, pessimistic thoughts and fear etc. Even many more questions need to be asked. However I assume that you were suffering from depression and some anxiety symptoms. You have not mentioned how well you were doing with the medications you were taking (lam, desilam etc.) sorry to mention that your write up has some spelling mistakes and lack of appropriate punctuations, which may convey your problem in a less clear manner. I have a doubt whether the third pill was bisonil or bisopil. If it is bisoprolol, then it might have been given to normalize your excessive heart rate. I assume that you were doing well when you were on these medicines. You couldn't continue them because of nonavailability due to lockdown (i assume the word "lighten" is "lockdown"). So you started feeling uncomfortable and reexperiencing the symptoms or some different kind of symptoms during this period. This may be due to the abrupt stopping of the medicines, because these medicines need to be taken for certain period of time under the supervision of your doctor for a good recovery. And they need to be stopped in a graded manner so that you will not experience rebound symptoms. That might have been the scenario in your case. However the symptoms what you are experiencing are also a form of anxiety and mood disturbance. This might have been settled if you had restarted your earlier medicines. I believe pharmacies are functioning in delhi. If you don't get the same brand, you can go for the appropriate alternative brands if possible with the consultation with your doctor. You mentioned that you had taken tab. Oleanz 2.5 mg and started feeling very drowsy so that you stopped after few doses, but the drowsy ness still continues even after you stopped it few days back. Don't worry. Nothing wrong will happen. It is a safe medicine only. And the dosage is also is very minimal. You will get out of this drowsyness after few days. If your symptoms got better with this medicine and the drowsyness is the only problem, then you try to take half or quarter of that medicine. Most of the times our body will get adopted to this drowsyness after few days. If you don't want to take this medicine, then you kindly go back to your previous medicines, because the symptoms may reappear after few days ,preferably after consulting with your doctor in person or through phone call. We all know that we are living in a stressful situation now. A fear about a virus, self isolation, limited social interaction, concerns about jobs and economy, etc.etc. But this a passing cloud. Things will get better sooner or then. What we need is a little bit of patience ,endurance, hope and lot of social decipline in the current context. Don't feel panicky about the side effect of that medicine. It will settle on its own. You just please be patient and wait and wait and wait for few more days. If you are still feeling worse, then you please consult the doctor by person or through take consultation. Good luck. God bless you. Â

Probably you are suffering from hypothyroidism. In certain form of hypothyroidism, you need thyronorm for life. You can not stop the treatment. Check TSH with regular 25 mcg of thyronorm for 1-2 months. It should become normal - less than 5. After that also, you need to continue the same dose and go for regular follow up. It may take few months to check repeatedly and fix the dose. In the meanwhile, you need antidepressants and anxiolytics. Please follow your psychiatrist's adviceÂ

Dear lybrate-user I am not sure why oleanz was prescribed to you, though it was very low dose. But in people with thyroid problem this medication may cause sleepiness, even when you start first time, but ir reduce over weeks. But in your case it was excessive. I think it should be alright within few days to a week, because this medicine doesn't work beyond that time period. Â

Hello this may be just a relapse of symptoms. Few medicines have sedation as a major side effect. You can start on drugs that are not sedative. Â
