I am hypertension patient for 4 months. I also have hyperglycemia. Bp 130/100. Sugar 140 fasting, 200 pp. I am on medication. Metformin 500 mg and glymperide 1 mg per day for sugar and losartan 50 mg for pressure. My question is I have been taking losartan first. Shifted to amlodipine 5 mg for some time and now having losartan 50 mg again. Can we keep shifting risk free or their is risk to do it? Which should I take?

you can be shifted from one to the otherif BP is staying out of range. Usually BP should be checked once every month on fixed dates after resting for ten minutes. Medicine should be changed after 3 month trial and only if it is not achieving desired BP amlodipine is slow strong effect. Losartan quicker but milder.

You better continue on losartan instead of changing everytime.
