Toothache since last 20 days, took crocin and ultracet, affect initially but now no effect on pain, finally took flexon and metrogyl 200, after taking flexon feel reduce in pain but after 6 to 9 hours pain start again, can see swelling at jaw side.

Hello. I'm sorry to know that your pain did not reduce with the painkillers. If you have a swelling it will be infection of a tooth being the source. Self medication is not adviced. Depending on which tooth is affected and size of swelling, we can prescribe the right medication of a combination of antibiotic course and a pain killer for the infection to completely subside.

With a proper dose of antibiotics for proper duration, most infections can be controlled at least in severity of pain. It would be adivsable to consult your dentist or any dentist or Dr. Nearby of problem continues. The infection might be needed to be drained by some emergency procedure that will give some comfort and time till a final solution.
