I want to know that my father is taking gluconorm pg2 tablets now but he wants to know that he can take gluconorm g2 instead of the gluconorm pg2 tablets for diabetes.

If his blood sugar is controlled with gluconorm pg2 then he should not change the medicine. Because it contains 3 medicines while gluconorm g2 contains 2.

Hello, thanks for the query. Tablet glconorm g2 contains glimiperide 2 mg plus metformin 500 mg, where as gluconorm pg2 contains additional drug pioglitazone 15 mg in it. So both are different. The doctor who has recommended that needs to be consulted. Pioglitazone helps in reducing insulin resistance. I have no information on patients detailed history and glucose levels as well as hba1c% therefore, there is no way to give any further suggestions. Thanks.
