Dear lybrate-user, you know it is seasonal. Depression comes and goes. When it comes, think that it will go away and look forward to it. When it goes also, you know that it will come back. As age advances and other medical problem sets in, it becomes prolonged. Sleep also reduces as age advances. This year carona virus and lock down were added. If depression impacts your life too much, go in for antidepressant treatment from a psychiatrist or cbt from a clinical psychologist.

Hi Lybrate user, I like to share with your health problem. For your seasonal depression you need to take medicines without fail. Besides, as a psychologist I want to share you that you must do some exercises in the morning and evening twice daily. The exercises are very simple that can be done at home. Besides, you need to engage in different activities (home work) and also you need to share your feelings with some people you like more. Do not be alone. It will create more depression. Any activity you like very much, engage in these activities. But, the activities must be accepted others.

Hello lybrate-user lal. Start your day doing some exercises or yoga. If you are diagnosed as having seasonal affective disorder, getting outside particularly when the light is brightest can be beneficial to you. Eat well. Share your feelings with the closed ones and listen their feelings too. Practice mindfulness and relaxation exercises in your everyday life. As you are having problems in sleep, you must practice healthy sleeping habits like avoid taking caffeine before 6 hours of bedtime, a warm bath before bed, don't do other activities except sleep on bed etc. Try to modify your negative thoughts by writing it down and examining it objectively. Don't panic. You may consult a psychologist for personalized therapy sessions and may opt for medications too.
