Yes definately lybrate-user. Scaling and root planning is very effective treatment in this problem of receding gums but along with it sometimes we have to go for flap surgery too. Cosing may vary with many reasons. But yes definitely at your age you shouldn't have receding gums. If you have that means you do vigorous brushing or do not maintain proper oral hygiene.
