Pus filled small painful acne in head scalp. It is getting from past 6 months. Earlier I used to take minocycline tablets for one and half month. When I amusing this course acne got reduced. And now after two months again acne I getting on my scalp. I am using normal mild shampoo along with keto-z shampoo as doctor prescribed. Still this procedure didn't work on reducing my acne on scalp. Please suggest some good shampoo and cream.

Hi! the symptoms ,which you are suffering from folliculitis scalp. This is a very chronic problem ,which takes a longer time to resolve. Internal health like diabetes, hypercholestrolemia, atopy ,obesity, diet, stress etc can be associated with folliculitis scalp. Check your weight, lipid profile, sugar levels etc to find out the association. Reduce diet having high glycemic index, oily foods which control flares or pop ups. Usually, nose (nostrils) is the reservoir of bacteria like staph ,so try to put mupirocin oint or sodium fusidate cream in the nostrils to avoid bacterial colonisation. Please check with your dermatologist for further evaluation. For time being use ,ketoconozole and zinc pyrithrone containing shampoos.
