I have been having vertigo problem for many years but mild and only once in a while but now for the last 5 months vertigo daily and specially when I lie down. Doing exercises for spondylitis and pain is very little some times so wondering if this is a ear related problem and can I get some treatment. Take vertin if the vertigo is bad otherwise not.

Both cervical (neck) spondylitis and internal ear problem can give rise to vertigo. There are many other like bp, mennier's with ear sound, lack of blood supply in ear due to aging etc. For a persisitent vertigo you should consult a physician - internal medicine for proper clinical examination, related investigations, proper diagnosis and advise. Vertigo can be central or peripheral. Central cause due to occlusion of blood vessels of brain. Peripheral cause usually due to ear problem. Vertigo on lying down, mild and prolonged vertigo can be central type especially if there is underlying diabetes and hypertension.
