Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. As you have been having diabetes for last 10 years, so it is quite possible that you are aware about how the blood glucose needs to be maintained. The values that you have mentioned are quite high. In a well controlled diabetic fbg should be < 100 mg and pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. You have not mentioned the after food glucose level as well as hba1c%. These are important to understand how the over all treatment is going on. In any case with fasting and random values it is clear that your current treatment needs to be upgraded. In addition there is a need to look at the following: weight, height, extent of daily exercise, dietary pattern, lipid profile, bp readings and over all lifestyle. Because drugs are just one part of the treatment. A lot depends on diet restriction, regular exercise and weight control and avoidance of alcohol as well as. Smoking. Hence if you are looking for on line help, please come back with all the above details in a private conversation so that I can suggest specific guidelines and also prescribe necessary drugs for better control. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines. No drugs can be prescribed. Or else please consult your local physician and get the treatment upgraded. Considering your young age it is absolutely essential to achieve a strict blood glucose control. Thanks. Â
