Hello, Thanks for the query. Usually in T2 DM when there is no proper control achieved with oral tablets (anti-diabetics) then Insulin is required. Because in some T2 DM patients insulin secreting beta cells have no reserve left, then there is a need for insulin supplementation from outside. Insulin is available in the form of vials to be taken by syringe or is also available as disposable pen or reusable pen. all the forms are same. With pen there is a better convenience and more accurate dosing is possible. Thanks.
