Hello, I had an injury on my lower lip and it has led to the formation of a scar tissue. The part has been swollen ever since and I started taking serrapeptase because I heard it dissolve scar tissue. Please what can I do because it is still inflamed.

Hi! serratiopeptidase has a long history in medicine and is widely used to combat various kinds of inflammation and inflammatory disorders. Serratiopeptidase or serrapeptase is a protein (proteolytic) enzyme isolated from the non-pathogenic enterobacteria serratia e15 found in silkworms. It doesn't dissolve the scar. If you want best treatment for your scar, better you use anti scar gels initially and if not responding you can go for laser scar revision modalities like fraxel laser, prp etc.
