The white layer formation despite of cleaning attempts, to some extent is due to the anatomical variation in the surface layer of the tongue. There are other reasons also. It is very important to maintain a good oral hygiene and I would advice you to rinse your oral cavity each time after you eat and brushing twice daily apart from vit b12 deficiency other nutritional deficiencies like vit b2, b3, iron, zinc etc can cause burning sensation in mouth. Take a multivitamin tablet. You can apply dentogel if there is too much burning avoid spicy, too hot foods and carbonated drinks squish with cool water you can apply honey for temporary relief you may wonder but stress is a contributing factor many a times so acquire healthy life style- nutritious diet, drink adequate water, exercise daily, stress free 6-8 hrs of sleep include more green leafy vegetables, milk and milk products nuts, sweet potatoes, avocados, peanuts, soybeans, fortified cereals, lentils get a blood test for haemoglobin stop worrying you'll be fine soon.
