The answer depends on certain factors like what kind of anxiety disorder you have, what is your current condition, what kind of profession you are in etc. In many cases under supervision by a psychiatrist, medication can be withdrawn within 3 to 5 years.

Hello lybrate-user - nexito (escitalopram) is an effective medication for anxiety disorders. - regarding duration of continuing the medicine, it depends on how long you have been having anxiety disorder, how much you have improved and whether you had any relapse before - if your anxiety is improved and if you are stable for atleast 6 months after getting better then nexito can be gradually tapered down. - if you had multiple relapses and severe anxiety disorder, nexito can be continued for a longer period. - get reviewed by a psychiatrist before making any changes to your medication - in addition to medication, if you have counselling/cbt it is more effective in managing anxiety and preventing relapse take care.
