My fasting sugar is 133 and pp sugar is 231. My hba1c is 7.1.i have been asked to take gluformin xl 1gm. What should I do?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. Fbg 133 mg and pp 231 mg are showing that there needs to be still better glucose control. Ideally fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% <6.8%. Tablet metformin 1000 mg, is good enough, if you tolerate it weel. Otherwise there are better options also available for achieving better control. However, it is very important to understand that along with medication it is very important to have a restricted diet, do regular exercise of over 1 hour a day and maintain normal weight. Since there is no mention of any of these details it is difficult to comment on that part. Thanks.

A diabetes diet is a healthy-eating plan that's naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories. Key elements are fruits, vegetables and whole grains. U can take (moderate amount) Grapes.
