I have recently been diagnosed with ocd and have been prescribed paxidep cr 25. As I was getting more anxious few days after starting the medicine, I read about its side effects online and found it is in black box category as per usfda which is scaring me even more now. Should I discontinue the medicine?

If you are feeling more anxious after taking the medication then maybe its not suiting you well. You can discuss with your psychiatrist to try other medication instead. There are plenty of options available. So please relax. Black box warning is a caution for doctors to use it cautiously in certain group of patients, particularly those with mood disorders. It's not for the ocd spectrum. So please remove any doubts. Please discuss with a psychiatrist for proper guidance. Donot stop medication on your own.
