I am getting problem in the morning after waking up when I stand my heart rate is increasing to 120 to 130 beats per min but not feeling palpitations. Hi Mr. lybrate-user. Hypertension with palpitations at your age needs a workup to rule out treatable causes. With limited details which you have provided it seems that you need investigation to rule of certain causes of hypertension with palpations at your age. Metoprolol which is a betablocker is good medicine provided we first establish the diagnosis and rule out other causes in which hypertension is one manifestations I can suggest you some workup if you can provide me your more clinical and investigation background. Consult me with your previous reports so I will try to guide you.
