Good afternoon. Adapalene along with isotroin can irritate the skin if not used carefully. Right now you should stop the cream for a few days till your skin settles down. Use a non comedogenic moisturiser and sunscreen to help it settle down. You can restart the cream as mentioned below once it does. First off, kindly use a sunscreen regularly and properly as your skin will be more photosensitive while on this treatment. To help reduce this feeling of irritation, you may try one of the following measures if you are using an adapalene based cream/gel: 1- apply only at night 2- avoid applying on sensitive skin areas such as around the eyes and mouth 3- apply only a small amount 4- leave it on for only 1/2 hour for the 1st 4 days, the wash it off continue increasing the time duration to 1 hr, then 2 hrs every 4 days before washing it off so that your skin gets used to the medication slowly if your skin can handle the transition, only then should you leave it on over night. 5- if you still find a lot of irritation- add an acne based moisturiser to the above mentioned regimen.

Hi lybrate-user, your isotretinoin tablet will irritate and dry out your skin, so when you apply your acne gels, it will cause burning sensation. You need to use a good sunscreen during day as isotretinoin makes your skin sensitive to sun/heat. Apply a bland moisturizer at night for a week with no medical gels so that it heals first. For further queries, you may opt for a consult.
