Dear lybrate-user, I understand that on your current medication sugars are not under good control. I suggest the following course of action reduce the quantity of carbohydrate (rice, wheat, rava, maida) in each meal and increase the quantity of protein (dhal, soya, egg white, fish or chicken). Take lot of green leafy vegetables walk 5 km per day and gradually reduce weight by 1 kg per month to ideal body weight (height in cm minus 100 will roughly be your ideal body weight in kg. Monitor blood sugars with glucometer as follows. Fasting and pp on wednesday and 2 hour after lunch and after dinner on sunday and maintain a record. If in spite of dietary adjustment and exercise, your sugar levels continue to be high and if your hba1c is more than 8 % seek a consultation to adjust your anti-diabetic drugs regards, professor m s seshadri.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the query. However, please tell me who is the patient as you have mentioned "I am already giving glidze m80 twice a day as well as trajenta 5 mg in afternoon after lunch". Plus few other details are required like what is FBG & PP (after food) & HbA1c%. Plus it is necessary to know patient's age, weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exrcise as well as lipid profile. Please understand there is nothing like :best drug" for diabetes. Probably Insulin is the best. All others are quite good. Almost all drugs are safe on liver and kidney. It is uncontrolled diabetes which is more harmful for kidney Thanks..
