We should understand anti-anxiety medications such as benzodiazepines don't have a direct effect on vascular resistance that contribute to hypertension. Stress can cause sympathetic arousal which may lead to increased palpitation and peripheral resistance but in either case you need to get a proper physician consultation to confirm if you really have 'essential' hypertension or bp was raised just due to stress. If it's second scenario, he can refer you to a psychiatrist. So technically you can have either both or just one of them contributing to bp. In any case, antihypertensives can continue if you are diagnosed but zapiz (benzodiazepines) are not to be continued long term unless a psychiatrist finds significant indication to continue.

Zapiz alone should not be given for a long time since it is a benzodiazepine. Consult a psychiatrist and get your anxiety treated with ssri like medications for safer better control. Good luck.
