lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Fbg 140 mg & pp 220 mg, both are on the higher side as you have also felt. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg & pp 150 to 170 mg. Plus hba1c% < 6.5% (not mentioned). Hence there is a need to look at the over all treatment which includes weight control, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise, plus lipid profile, serum creatinine and urea. Since there is no information on these important aspects, it is difficult suggest any treatment. Plus in this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no drugs can be prescribed. For prescription you need to come in a private conversation. With all the relevant details. Dear lybrate-user, since only post prandial is elevated you can add voglibose 0.3 mg to be taken with food to get the value under control. Note, if you have low sugar problem after adding voglibose, you will need to take glucose and not the usual sugar to take care of the problem
