My mother 70 years with high bp, diabetes and pace maker was on stamlo d (1-0-0) & stamlo 5 (0-0-1).her bp was normal at 134/70 .due to severe cough the meds were changed to arkamin 1-0-1 & minipress xl 2.5 (mrng. How ever her bp is v high 174/102. Now arkamin increases to (1-1-1) from today yet it is above 165. Doea arkamin take time to act? Her bp was never so high. She eats simple veg diet. She also takes ecosprin av 75 and volibo m 0.2 .is arkamin slow acting drug?

Any change in meds takes time to make it work wait for 5 days-1 wks time or visit a nearest internist.

See as the new medicine is started it will take some time to adjust, see just watch for blood pressure keep recording at home for 3 times a day. Even if you find it to be high then do get consulted to the cardiologist ok.
