You can apply aloe vera juice/gel from its leaf (fresh, not from readymade gels available in market) on your face. Remove skin of an aloe vera leaf. Take /scoop out gel. Apply this gel to your face skin. Wash with plain water after an hour. Stop using soap on face. Instead take a spoon of milk, add a pinch of turmeric (haldi). Mix n apply on face with the help of cotton. Leave for a few minutes then wash off. Apply moisturizer like coconut oil. Simple honey mask--before applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Use some sunblock with spf (at least 50) every time you go out in sun. Apply it 30 mins before going out use umbrella when going in sun. Wear full sleeves clothsdrink plenty of fluids. Don?t be stressed. For more details consult online. Â

Hello hope you are keeping safe 1) I understand your concern, please understand that long-term use of steroide based creams can lead to various side effects like - fine wrinkling / striae - dark spots (hyperpigmentation)/ white spots (hypopigmentation) - rashes - acne breakouts - thinning if skin tissue - lichenification/ thickening of skin tissue - localised hair growth - easy bruises - enlarged superficial blood vessels/ telengectasia 2) since your skin is hypersensitive now post the long term steroid treatment, kindly give a treatment free period of 2 weeks, during which no other products except for gel based suncreen of spf 50 should be used morning and afternoon (even when sitting at home) 3) after this you can start the acne specific treatment. You can book an appointment sending a photo of the acne lesions to grade the severity. You can wash your face with any anti- acne soaps twice daily. 4) also follow these simple measures- - do not pick on your acne as it lead to scarring which could be deep and permanent -do not touch your face with unclean hands - do not scrub you face -avoid cosmetic products especially the oily based ones, unless the present flare-up subsides -apply a sunscreen with spf not less than 50 - relax yourself, and make yourself stress free ,as stress is a big contributing factor. -avoid oily food, junk food, dairy products ,egg yolk, fatty and too spicy foods. 5) take care an be aware about few of the reasons that causes these comedones - high consumption of dairy products - cola, caffeinated drinks, aerated drinks, high sugary foods - high humidity - over application of moisturizers and creams clogging the pores - excessive sebum secretion inherently. - picking/ squeezing acne, abrasive washing or frequent scrubbing. Following these measures may help to soothe the skin sensitivity. Hope your query is cleared thank you and take care. Â

Long term use of steroid (like betnovate) damages facial skin and sudden stoppage of such drug causes acute flares (itching redness dryness). After stopage of the cream you can use very mild potent steroid like desonide/ hydrocortisone once daily for 7 days, den alternative day for 7 days and then stop (but this low potent steroid should be started only after seeing the severity of symptoms by a dermatolgist). Along with this use moisturizer 2 to 3 times daily and strict avoidance of sun exposure. Tab levocetrizine once daily at night for itching. After 3 to 4 wks you can start clindymycin nicotinamide cream for acne. Take care. Thanks. Â

Good evening lybrate-user. Based on your history, you have in all probability developed a condition called - 'topical steroid damaged face'due to years of application of betnovate cream over the face. It requires proper assessment, so you need to consult a dermatologist immediately. Treatment will take a long time and require regular follow up visits. You must be patient while on treatment as years of damage cannot be healed in a week or two. Â
