I have hyper thyroid. My tsh was 361,2 months ago. Taking daily throx 75, and now tsh is 9. But I have nausea problem. Every morning, during breakfast I feel like vomit. Doctor has prescribed dompan tablet daily, but I am afraid of side effects of daily medicine. Kindly suggest any other option to get rid of nausea.

Dear lybrate-user, I note that on 75 ug of thyrox your tsh is still a bit high. This can happen if you miss taking tablets for even 2 or 3 days in a month. If you are missing tablets correct this first if you miss the dose on empty stomach take it later when you remember, regarding your morning nausea, avoid alcohol and smoking if you have either habit. Stay on a simple diet and avoid rich food. Recheck tsh when you are taking tablets regularly for at least 3 months and if this is < 5 your thyrox dose is ok professor m s seshadri.

Follow this 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 4.
