My father age is 67. He is diabetes patient type 2.after meal sugar level 416. He is take glimip mp2 tablet (glimepiride 2 mg + metformin 500 mg + pioglitazone 15 mg) 3 time in day. Pls share medicine which not affect on kidney and eye.

Dear lybrate-user, I find that your father is quite overweight his correct weight should be about 55-60 kg. I suggest that he go on a strict diet (low carbohydrate, normal protein and fat, walk about 5 km per day and gradually reduce weight to about 60 kg. Keep monitoring his sugars at home with a glucometer (fasting and 2 hours after each meal) once a week if the sugars get under control with this dietary modification he may not need additional medication
