Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given, there is no mention of vital and necessary information, without which I can not comment. Please give following details: patient's height, weight, extent of daily exercise, dietary pattern n details, hba1c%, lipid profile and bp readings as well as do mention since when does he have diabetes, serum creatinine and urea. Only on giing through all the information I will be in a position to suggest an upgrade for the treatment. It is better if you come in a private conversation as in this communication there is permission to prescribe any drugs. We can only give general guidelines. Or else please do consult your local physician, because the glucose levels (particularly fbg) are quite high. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes patient fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c%<7%. This helps in postponing diabetes associated long term complications or even preventing those. I hope things are clear. Thanks.

Sir/madam, the main problem is obesity bcoz bmi is around 30. Your father fasting sugar is bit high but don't worry about it. I have some suggestions:- first, we have some good drugs for better control of blood sugar. The medicine you are on will not be sufficient. Second, we can suggest exercise and medical nutrition therapy for diabetes. Third, weight reduction of about 5 to 7 kg over a period of 6 to 9 months will help alot. Fourth, plan for hba1c, serum creatinine, lft & thyroid profile fifth, get check his bp and if possible ecg sixth, if he consume tobacco, or smoke or drink or consume non veg diet, ask him to quit it seventh, consult me.
