Question to psychiatrist? Doctor just prescribed medicine pramirol (pramipexole) 0.5 mg once a day by seeing the symptoms no tests had been conducted. I have already following lithosun sr (lithium carbonate 400), sertraline100, fluvoxamine 50, alprazolam 0.25 mg dosage per day. What are the alternatives to these psychiatric medicines? I have gone through major side effects and interactions of these medicines. What are the alternatives to these psychiatric medicines? A question to psychiatrist?

Dear lybrate-user, all tablets have side effects and interactions. Some side effects may be beneficial to you. You have to tolerate the side effects for the sake of the benefit they give. Major side effect on organs like thyroid, kidneys and parathyroid will be monitored by your psychiatrist periodically. There are plenty of alternatives - each of them side effects on its own. I have already informed you that psychiatrist's tests.
