My daughter aged 22 years old is a diabetic patient who takes metformin for the last 6 months. Her condition is worse, lean, thin, hair fall and drastically lost weight. She is very weak. What suggestions would you like to give me? Shall I continue the same medicine or what medicine do you want to suggest me.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the query. Except saying that she has diabetes and is taking metformin, there is no relevant information so it is very difficult to give any opinion. Please give following details: 1) fasting, after food glucose levels, hba1c%, lipid profile, dietary pattern in etail, extent of physical activity, weight, height (because in the above weight and height is mentioned sex is given as male). Unless glucose levels are known there is no way to know what is the situation. She may need additional medication, plus there is a need to look at her diet and exercise and overall lifestyle. It is better if you come in a private conversation as in that you can post all the reports and I can give specific guidance and prescribe necessary medication if required. In this communication we are only supposed to give general guidelines, no drugs can be recommended. I await your response. Thanks.
