Congratulations for having recovered well from your depression. I am sure you did not like the experience of being depressed and all of the symptoms following that condition. In view of that it is better and safer for you to build on that recovery with practices and habits that help develop your health mentally, physically, psychologically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. If you did not, the likelihood of having a relapses is quite high ordinarily. If you indulged in smoking up, which is contraindicative to your recovery, you are exposing yourself to imminent threats. Whatever your information about marijuana, the final consensus on it is still at large and everything you read or hear about it you must take with a sack of salt. THC is a hallucinogen and can do weird things with the mind, therefore not advisable. Some people are more susceptible to its effects than others. I would place you in that category of susceptibility due to your recent recovery and vulnerability. Stay away from it and let the dust about marijuana settle down before we know the conclusions. You are playing with danger by your indulgence.Â

Hi, I will advise to refrain from marijuana use especially since you have experienced mental health issues requiring long term treatment. Marijuana is known to be associated with onset and worsening of various psychiatric disorders. And in my opinion it will not be helpful for the depressive symptoms and may cause increased dullness, slowness and decreased initiative and interest. In addition, smoking any form of cigarettes is harmful to your lungs. There is plenty of research going on beneficial effects of cannabis in some illnesses but there is no recommendation to use it in depression. Please be careful in interpreting the kind of content available on internet. Sometimes people use marijuana on their own to manage their anxiety and low mood, if that is the case please discuss with your psychiatrist to adjust your medications or advice therapy to address that. Hello Mr Harish Kumar I will suggest you to go fr some basic natural process to overcome depression...... 1.Meditation. As guru-like as this may sound, meditation is receiving a much higher role in psychotherapy and is used in a lot of different approaches to many psychological disorders, but has shown to be especially helpful in combating depression. 2.Exercising. The most common symptom in people suffering from Depression is apathy towards life. They are not motivated to do anything and simply sit around, trying to waste time. If you are experiencing this then force yourself to do something! Anything is better than nothing, although exercise is one of the best things to do. Workout, do some physical activities, or be productive in some way. When you accomplish something you always feel better because you see that life can keep moving on! 3.Accepting your situation. Most people try to deny the fact that they are depressed, hide from the negative events in the world and, simply put, run away from the truth. This denial causes them to misinterpret other events and the depression is left room to grow. Accept that there is a problem, but also accept the fact that you can change. Nothing is forever and you can do something about it. But you must believe in this first otherwise all the help in the world is not going to do anything for you. 4.Focus on what you can do. There are millions and millions of things that you cannot change. There are so many things that you wish you could do but can?t that focusing on it all the time is bound to make you depressed. Instead, focus on the actual things you can affect and change. You can do so much but you must focus on what you can do. The 3 most powerful words I have learned to do this are: ?Okay? what now?? Given the situation, given everything that is going on, what are you going to do about it now? 5.Sleep early: Have 7 hours of good sleep. Just sleep it up!This?ll charge up your body for the next day. Make sure you get good sleep. Clear up your mind before you sleep, put things to tomorrow and just relax and sleep 6.Have some hobby: Dancing, painting, piano, guitar, writing, blogging, journalism, whatever it may be. Make time each week to do something that you really like. Do it regularly, become skilled in it and enjoy these little moments of happiness!Â
