Hello, my current hba1c stands at 5.9. Average blood sugar at fasting is 95-105 and after dinner is 135-150. I'm currently on the dose of metformin hydrochloride sr of 500 mg and wants to reduce it. I'm following all the precautions with brisk walks. Whether metformin hydrochloride sr 250 mg should be taken after breakfast once in a day or it should be taken twice a day i.e.one in morning after breakfast and one in evening after dinner or it is sufficient to take only one in a day after breakfast in the morning as asked above. This question regarding the dose arises as hba1c is under control and I want to reduce the dose of metformin hydrochloride sr 500 mg tablet to 250 mg tablet.
