Hi lybrate-user, your father has been prescribed an antipsychotic medication (olanzapine) along with anti-anxiety, sleep medication and vitamins. The symptom you are describing are suggestive of psychosis or schizophrenia. If that is the treating psychiatrists diagnosis then this seems to be the right course of treatment. However, there can be other causes of hallucinations, I hope they have been ruled out by your doctor.

Dear Rahul, Unless you give the details of your father's age, medical history and details of hallucinations, it is difficult to advise. The doctor must have assessed your father and then prescribed. Have faith in him and get back to your doctor after the prescribed period is over.

Hello lybrate-user, I hope your father is doing well comparatively. The above medicines that you have mentioned seems to have been prescribed correctly as per the diagnosis I am making out of the symptoms that you ahve mentioned. But not necessarily that all the symptoms will be resolved at this dose but may be required to hike gradually till he remits. You have to be patient and trust your psychiatrist. Your father will be alright soon but it will be a journey that you and your family need to get through positively. Support your father as well as possible till then. There will be ups and downs.
