My father has blood pressure for the first time 140/80 doctor gave hytel 20 mg within one week blood pressure came 120/80 whether he need to continue medicine or not.

140/80 BP is almost normal, needs no requirement of  medication but the present  reading seems to be absolutely normal ,requires continuation of present  medication ,of ourse.

It is advisable to continue anti hypertensive if no symptoms low bp or side effect of medicine .i would advice to get ecg echo and renal parameter to find any abnormality which will also guide us in duration.
