Normally it is safe but causes some side effects like nausea, vomiting , drowsiness etc. My question to you is it only thigh region or entire leg we are talking about and are there any other neurological symptoms associated ? There is no point in masking the pain we have to find the root cause and deal it than only the problem will get solved. You could have a radiculopaty or neuropathy you have to answer several questions before i come to a diagnosis gabapentin will have a masking effect on the nervous system it may make you drowsy.
