I have noticed in some men that their necks are swollen in the front, as if retaining some liquid. Normally, the neck appears slim, and the bones can easily be seen, but in these men the front region appears gorged from the chin downwards, more than what happens in double chin. And most of these men have average body weight. So what could be the reason? Does hypothyroidism cause this neck swelling?

Hello! hypothyroidism is rare in men. This possibly can be due to infection or cancer of salivary gland or lump in neck muscle or swollen lymph nodes. But in last 2 cases swelling is firm and not fluid like consistency. If not investigated and treated could progress to cancer.
