In a patient with diabetes first and foremost is to achievea very good blood glucose control, as that will help in preventing development of long term complications associated with diabetes which affect multiple systems and organs in the body. Since there is absolutely no mention of his age, blood glucose levels (fasting & after food& HbA1c%), weight, height, dietary details, extent of daily exercises, lipid profile, serum creatinin, urea and BP readings, there is no way to understand how good or bad the glucose control he has. Unless that is known, no suggestion can be given. As regards giving a multivitamin tablet or a capsule that can always be done. Thanks.
