Sir my psychiatrist prescribe me psyvoxin 50 mg (fluvoxamine50) at morning and night. Half tablet of syconil 25 (clomipramine) at night. Everything thing was fine. one day I replace only syconil 25 mg with clonil 25 mg. because syconil was not available. I feel that clonil 25 is different from syconil 25. Clonil 25 was not working as syconil 25 but both having same salt clomipramine 25 is amount of active ingredient clomipramine is same in syconil and clonil why I feel difference when I use clonil instead of syconil?

Dear lybrate-user, clomipramine 25 mg is the active chemical in both clonil and syconil. So both should work in the same way. There are non chemical response in any tablet. When you were in the worst state, syconil was felt very effective. Later when you are okay, the same drug's side effect is bothersome or you your brain develops tolerance to it. The colour, shape, packing, the prescribing doctor, the medical shop where it is bought, etc also plays a role. Last but not the least, your disorder itself has fluctuations in its course.

Hi lybrate-user, this can sometimes happen because of the different manufacturers and coating of the tablet however you can continue taking the same tablet and if you don't get the same tablet you can switch to clonil and over the period you will be comfortable with clonil. It is not a major problem and seen with lot of other medicines.
