My thyroid tsh level is 15.84 and I have gained a weight little and joint pain also im talking eltroxin 75 mg is it correct dose for me. Please suggest wt to do.

Hello, Thanks for the query. The TSH levels is quite high, considering that you are on treatment. Ideally with adequate dosage of Levothyroxiine TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which all the symptoms are in check. So it is clear that your current dosage is less, needs to be increased to88 mcg(12.5 mcg additional). Then check TSH after 6 weeks to see if desired level is achieved. Another aspect is with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 29.68 kgs/Sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter) you are almost in grade 1 obesity. You have an excess of 17 kgs. Good TSH control will help in your efforts in loosing weight. Thanks.
