My wife who is suffering from hypothyroidism was diagnosed to take thyronorm 75 regularly since july20 when her tsh was 6.27 uiu/ml. Recent test results for tsh is 9.77 uiu/ml, t3 is 1.17 ng/ml & t4 is 8.18 ug/dl. Is the thyroid dosage ok and be continued the same or not please. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. In a well controlled hypothyroidism patient, TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which level most of the symptoms. SInce TSH has gone up, means current dosage is not adequate. Needs to be increased by at least 12.5 mcg per day.(75 mcg+12.5 mcg). Then check the TSH again after 6 weeks , to see if expected goal is achieved. Thanks.
