Hi, i'm 28 years old male. I have had different values for tsh thyroid oct 2019 12.81 (without any medication). Then I consulted a doctor and had medication and on oct 2020, the value was 1.81 (thyronorm 75 daily). Then I consulted a homeo doctor as I didn't want to consume medicine throughout my life and he suggested have medication on alternate days along with homeo medicine and the reading on feb 2020 became 75.9 (thyronorm 75 on alternate days) cholesterol 217 during this latest test. I know some bad decisions were made. Please advise on how to get cured. Again I want to say since i'm only 28, I don't want to consume medicine throughout my life and would prefer having medicine and getting cured soon, if such an option is available in allopathy. Height 181. Weight before lockdown with exercise and sports: 68. Now, without any exercise and full rest and it work, weight is 82. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. First and foremost, please understand if one has developed HYPOTHYROIDISM it means his own thyroid gland is either not producine enough or almost nil Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine(T3). That causes increase in the TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) which comes from pituitary gland and asks thyroid to produce T4. Since the gland is unable to do so TSH goes on increasing in order to stimulate the cells in thyroid gland. Thyroxine is required for day to multiple metabolic functions in the body like maintaining body temperature, maintaining normal functioning of heart, maintaining skin texture, body temperature, menstrual cycles in females, fertility and most importantly brain functioning. Plus maintaining normal body weight. Since your gland has no or very little T4, it has to be supplemented from outside, which called as hormone supplementation. This has to be done on daily basis for life time. There is no option. This being a hormone deficiency disorder, only option is to supplement the necessary hormone every day. Adequate dosage of Levothyroxine (which a synthetic hormone similar to one produced by our gland), has to be taken, then one will maintain TSH around 3 to 4 mU/L at which all the symptoms are in check. Otherwise, all the symptoms like tiredness, weakness, lethargy, slow heart rate, dry skin, constipation, anxiety, upset cholesterol, weight gain and hair fall etc will come back. So now the choice is with you. If you take the correct dosage and check TSH after 6 weeks to see if it has come to the expected level, you will remain absolutely healthy. This is a very simple condition if proper dosage without missing is taken. Otherwise, you are heading for problems. I hope things are clear. If you have any questions please come back in a private conversation (paid consultation) then I will be able to guide specifically. Thanks.

You have Hypothyroid means your thyroid gland is not able to produce sufficient hormone which is essential for metabolism, hence you have to take it as tab.and monitor TSH level in your blood to adjust the dose.Earlier you thyroid status was well controlled.Youcan resume the same dose schedule. cholesterol is mildly high, like to know full lipid profile.Meanwhile reduce the weight.

Sorry to say but there is no cure for hypothyroidism. U need to take medicines and start then early. Reducing medicine on your own is not good and you did see results— 75.9. It’s too high. Moreover your weight increase is also because of uncontrolled tsh.
