I've had diabetes for the past month. In fasting my sugar level was 223. Later I went to the doctor and am taking janumate medicine. After taking that medicine, my sugar is now 104 on fasting. Can I skip the medicine now or not? Can I control my food and give up medicine or not?

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. I can see that you have developed diabetes which seems to have been controlled with the drug that you are taking. Stopping that drug will agin increase the blood glucose kevel again. Once diabetes sets in reversing it is almost impossible. However, there are cases where people have been able to come out of it, only when a strict modified lifestyle is adapted. In your case with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30.64 kgs(Normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter) you are already in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be about 58 kgs, which means there is an excess of 18 plus kgs. This is an invitation for diabetes and possibly other diseases. Please check your HbA1c%, fasting and PP glucose and lipid profile and come back, plus also mention about current dietary pattern and extent of daily exercise, on going through those details I will be able to comment further. Thanks.
