Depends on the condition. If you taking it for long term anxiety, OCD or depression then stopping it will lead to relapse if the symptoms. If they were given for a short term illness they can be stopped. So it lies with your condition. Good luck

Dear Md, Finding out about these medicines will NOT be a hindrance. Actually if you are fighting a mental health issue, it will be an added advantage. There are other addictive psychotropics that may be difficult to leave. Your medication is none of them. If you plan to leave medication against the advice of the treating doctor, your placement interview may go heywire

Hi lybrate-user, yes, it is possible to leave these medication. But you have to weight the pros and cons of continuing or leaving same, which can be best done under the consultation of a psychiatrist. For instance, if you discontinue medicines and your symptoms reappears and thet becomes a hindrance in your course, then there is no question of placement. Discontinuing medication also depends on the indications for which they were started. I you are asked not to discontinue meds, then get them optimised and it is highly probable that you might need only one medicine out of them, especiallly if they are used in suboptimal dose. I wish you stay healthy!
