Am in thyronorm 50 mcg medication since few months. Recently diagnosed tsh is 14.5,t3 & t4 is normal, consult a doctor and suggested 100 mcg thyronorm, but swelling is seeing at above the left shoulder (behind the left neck), pls give me the suggestion is 100 mcg sufficient doctor.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details given. It is difficult to suggest a change or an increase in the dosage of the drug based on what is mentioned. Please come back with following details : 1)Weight, height 2) Specific symptoms associated with the condition that the person may be having, 3) What were the TSH. T3 & T4 levels when initial treatment was started? 4)The TSH level mentioned (T3 & T4 are not given) is of which date? What are the current symptoms? As regards the "swelling in above left shoulder" it is difficult to comment because in hypothyroidism such a symptom is unusual. Please remember in a well controlled hypothyroidism patient TSH remains around 3 to 4 mU/L or a bit below that. T3 & T4 are with in the specified range. So please do come back with specific details.
