I am 40 years old male .since 4 years I am diabetic diagnosed with 400 and since one year it is maintained with 100-120 at fasting and 120-140 at post prandial. I am not on medicine these four years problem is around one year my weight reduced 8 kgs from 81 to73. of course I changed my diet (on and off) reduced carbohydrates I have l5- s1 disc prolapse over 10 years now this is well maintained with collagen supplements. But problem is my side knee pain on left side. Plantar fasciitis on left. Recently I climbed abot 100stairs with 30 kg weights then right knee sides pained for one day. All these pains are on/off. And also observed pain in spine when I coughed after waking up in the morning. If I eat less I can able to walk fastly also. .my parents both have arthritis problems. diagnosis found b12 and vitamin d deficiency. I am still having sedentary lifestyle since 20 years due to nature of my job. My waist size came from 38 to 34 now so what is happening with my body and how I need to plan for next 20 years? My last hba1c is 5.7.

Hello lybrate-user, greetings from your description it seems that you have degenerative disease of both knee and spine in the beginning stages. I hope you have corrected your vitamin d and b12 levels. Along with that you need to take enough calcium from the diet or from supplements. Joint supplements like glucosamine, condrotin sulphate will also help. Glucosamine alone sometimes disturbs glucose metabolism and increases blood sugar level, which you need to check once you start. If its increases then stop glucosamine. Dicerin is again a very good option. Msm, rosehip extract, curcuma extract etc. All these natural substances helps in joint pain. If your spine pain is radiating to limbs then you need to check with nearby doctor you might be having disc problem. Muscles around knee joint should be strong that will prevent early degeneration of the joint. In my opinion supplements and exercise is the way to go from here.
