I've gotten my braces off. My only issue was crowded teeth at the bottom but that was fixed but I still had to fix my upper teeth along with them and out braces even though they were fine but now my upper teeth after I took off my braces have become very narrow making my face look sunken in and my two front teeth more visible. At the moment I have to wear retainers almost 24/7 but I was thinking about trying to wear only retainers on my bottom teeth and not upper so that they go back to their original place which was way wider and I had a wide smile which was ruined. Is it a good idea?

Dear patient stopping retainers before the time prescribed by the orthodontist is not a good idea. Your upper teeth may lose their alignment or arrangements that was achieved by treatment. I advise you to continue wearing retainers both upper and lower, unless your orthodontist says so. If you are looking for changes in retainers or anything else. Please consult your orthodontist first. Don't try to solve dental health problems yourself
